Program Overview
In conjunction with the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities, George Fox students can study in the . Participating students have access to more than 100 libraries, discussion classes, lectures, and one-on-one tutorials.
You will participate in required field trips to places like Stonehenge, Bath and Coventry, and also have opportunities to travel in your free time and participate in optional activities sponsored by the program.
Course Content
You enroll in seminars and tutorials that include one-on-one sessions with an Oxford professor/tutor. Six hours of academic credit are earned for the summer session. You will also participate in the lecture series “The Christian tradition in the British Isles.”
In addition, you will be required to attend two pre-departure meetings, complete an online course evaluation, and attend a re-entry meeting upon your return. You must see the transfer credit specialist in the registrar’s office before you begin your summer off-campus program.
Housing
You have the option to live at The Vines, a grand home on the crest of Headington Hill, a 35-minute walk into Oxford city center or a five-minute walk to the nearest bus stop, or at the Crick Road House, a 10-minute walk from the center of town (or five minutes to Wycliffe Hall).
Program Fees & Eligibility
The cost of the program is $7,460. This includes tuition, room and partial meals, and expenses for all required field trips. This amount, plus a $300 administrative fee, is paid to George Fox, which will pay the Oxford Summer Programme. Round-trip airfare is additional.
To apply, you must be full-time undergraduate with sophomore, junior, or senior status, and hold a cumulative GPA of 2.90 or higher.
