Let's Get Started

Follow each of the stops on this page to start your George Fox Journey.

And download this printable checklist to help track your progress this summer!

  1. Pay Your Enrollment Deposit

Paying your enrollment deposit starts your Bruin Bound journey. It tells us you’re ready to join the George Fox community and can’t wait to be a Bruin!

  2. Arrange Your Housing and Meal Plan

When you fill out the Housing and Meal Plan Intent form, it starts your housing and meal plan selection process. So exciting! The form, along with more information based on your specific situation, will be available in the housing portal accessed through , the George Fox student portal.

Note: 48-72 hours must pass after submitting your enrollment deposit to gain access to the Housing and Meal Plan Intent form.

  3. Register for Classes

    How it Works

During Bruin Bound Summer, you’ll receive a link to the Class Registration Survey, which helps us work together to handcraft a great class schedule for you. This is where you'll indicate your major and schedule preferences.

In order to fill out the Class Registration Survey, you’ll need to watch the Enrollment Services orientation video and complete a short quiz in your . Upon completion, you’ll be taken to your Class Registration Survey.

After receiving your survey, our academic advisors will map out your class schedule this summer and will notify you when you’ve been enrolled. You can then schedule an optional Class Confirmation Appointment with your admissions counselor to review your schedule together. Make sure to bring your questions with you to that meeting!

    What to Do

    • In order to begin classes in the fall, your final high school transcript (with proof of graduation) must be sent to George Fox.
    • Prior to class registration, you will need to complete the Annual Financial Agreement To Do list item on your MyGeorgeFox Tasks tile. Also, don't forget to sign your Release of Information form (you'll use your MyGeorgeFox login for this) if you'd like your parent or guardian to have access to your academic information.
    • Bringing in AP, IB, or college credit? Make sure your most recent official college transcript and/or AP or IB scores are sent to us. Students actively enrolled in college classes will receive their initial registration based on their current transcript evaluation. As updated transcripts, with final grades, are received/evaluated your registration will be adjusted accordingly.

Not sure what to major in?

  4. Start Checking Your George Fox Email and MyGeorgeFox Task List

Important information will be sent to your George Fox email address from various people on campus, including your professors, throughout the summer. Access your George Fox email, pending tasks, and other George Fox accounts by going to . We’ll post items you need to take care of on your Task list, so make sure to keep an eye on it!

  5. Get Your ID Card

It’s the big moment! Get certified as an official George Fox student by sending us your ID card picture. We'll print your ID card with that photo and send it back to you so you can show your family and friends your Bruin pride!

Just don't forget to bring it with you to campus, because you'll use it a lot here! Instructions for sending us your ID card photo will be sent after you submit your Class Registration Survey.

  6. Figure Out Finances

You’ll need to “accept” any financial aid you plan to use through . While you’re at it, make sure to send us any outside scholarships you've received. Check out instructions on the Financial Aid website. Then, make sure to take care of your payment and billing information. Details for this can be found on our Office of Student Accounts Bruin Bound page.

  8. Apply for a Job and Register for Parking

    On-Campus Jobs

If you plan to work on campus you'll need to apply for a job on Handshake.  Jobs are typically posted throughout the summer and school year, so check back often to view new opportunities. Once class registration is complete, incoming students are eligible to start working on campus as early as this summer.

    Parking

Parking will be extremely limited this year due to construction on campus. Because of this, we highly recommend leaving your car at home during your first year, unless you plan to work off-campus. Grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and shops are all within a safe walking distance from campus. If you plan to bring a car, you'll need to register it. Vehicle registration opens in July. Visit our  Parking 101 page for details.

  9. Make Sure Your Parents Look at Their Checklist

As you might guess, there are important things for your parents to take care of to help you prepare to go to college. We've listed some of the most important at the bottom of this page.

  10. You're Almost There!

Now is the time to take care of last-minute items like buying books and purchasing dorm supplies. Also, don't forget to check out the Welcome Weekend website and get excited for the awesome experiences you'll have when you get here!

Once you've completed all the stops, get ready for ...
