KiDO & FPNO !
Our Kid's Day Out (KiDO) and Foster Parents Night Out (FPNO) programs simultaneously allow our student volunteers to learn through community service while giving opportunity for caretakers to be rejuvenated and for Kiddos to have a blast! This is a win+win+win, because not only to kids need to have fun with more trusted and regulated grown-ups, but especially because parents of children with disabilities and Resource Parents of kids in foster care lack consistent breaks to rest and recuperate from their demanding roles and it's not easy to find trusted, vetted and trained volunteers... which also offers Fox students trauma-informed training on creating safe, healing and fun environments for kids who go through a lot!
Kid’s Day Out is a fun, safe & engaging respite care opportunity for kids aged 3-13 with differing kinds of disabilities. Three hours of adaptable, child-led play with sensory-safe spaces and snacks! These events will occur on Saturdays, 1-4pm: February 8th and March 8th, 2025. The location will be provided once your child is registered here...
And we are always looking for more volunteers to show compassionate hospitality to our guests through intentional presence and play! Whether you want to facilitate games, activities, or crafts or wish to be a buddy, all skill sets are welcome and needed! To sign up as a volunteer, apply here...
Similarly, Foster Parents Night Out (FPNO)is our monthly celebration of kids in care that gives trauma-informed, vetted and trained Fox students the opportunity to learn through community service all while kids have a blast and Resource Parents get a several hours off for Self-Care! We're always looking for more volunteers! Games, food prep, crafts, safety/security, nursery, playground activities and more. All skill levels and interests are welcome and needed, as long as you geninuinely care about these precious kiddos!
