Break Housing
Winter/Spring Break Housing
All living areas are closed over winter and spring break. However, we recognize some students need housing accommodations during break closures. To meet this need, we offer break housing to students in these situations:
- Required sports programs
- Home address is 200-plus miles away
- On- or off-campus jobs requiring students to stay in town
- Extenuating circumstances or illness

Summer Housing
Any student who is enrolled in classes for fall semester may apply for summer housing. Housing is provided on a first-come, first-served basis with a limited amount of spaces. Priority will be given to current students as well as those who are employed in an on-campus job without local housing options.
Summer housing options include double-occupancy rooms in apartments and houses on campus.
2025 Summer Housing FAQ
Summer housing is available from May 5 to Aug. 1, 2025.
You can apply through the "Summer Housing Application" on the . Applications open on or around April 1, and are due on Friday, April 25, 2025 (applications are accepted after this date, but on a case-by-case basis.)
- $250/month for on-campus employees and research scholars (billed to student account)
- $500/month for all other summer students (billed to student account)
For residents who will be on campus for fall 2025, there is no charge for the month of August, and students will transition to their fall housing space in early August.
Note: Summer housing is billed at the beginning of the summer and is not prorated by week (Payment plans may be available through the Student Accounts Office). There will also be a $25 fee if you apply for summer housing but do not check-in. To avoid this fee you must cancel your application by the day before your summer housing begins.
Housing fees will be due at the beginning of the summer, even if a student does not move-in immediately. Late payments will be subject to late fees and account holds. For your convenience, here are instructions for online payments.
Students will be assigned to summer housing on a space-available basis. Unfortunately, we are limited in our ability to consider living area preferences during this time. Assignments are based primarily on our need to facilitate summer checkouts and fall arrivals in early August.
Housing assignments for summer will be available when students check in. Because of the short turnaround time between spring semester and summer we are not able to provide this information prior to this date.
Students will be able to move into their summer housing during the first two weeks of May. Housing information and keys will be available for pick-up at the student life office during that time. Specific dates and times will be communicated via email.
Students leaving for Juniors Abroad and then returning for summer employment will move in after they return from their trip.
Students are able to stay in their spring semester housing until moving to their summer space. These students will still need to check out with their RA at the appropriate time, but will be able to stay in campus housing until summer housing is ready. Please consult with your RA/AC regarding details.
Students living off campus for spring semester and then moving into campus housing may have a different move-in timeline. Information regarding move-in will be communicated via email.
